Introducing Gridcog's new Operations Coordinator in London, Kate Orsborn

I’m thrilled to welcome Scott Bosman to the Gridcog team!
As Gridcog continues to expand, Scott joins our Melbourne office as an Energy Analyst, where he’ll be helping customers make the most of our platform while also contributing to the ongoing development of our tools.
Scott brings a wealth of experience from his time as an Energy Transition consultant at PwC, where he worked on projects spanning green fuels, EV charging, and carbon capture. With a background in environmental engineering and a passion for tackling complex energy challenges, Scott is a perfect fit for Gridcog’s team of energy experts.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him hiking in the bush, playing football, or planning his next travel adventure.
Read on to learn more about Scott!
What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?
Before joining Gridcog, I was an Energy Transition consultant working at PwC, where I worked on a variety of projects across the energy landscape (ranging from green fuels to EV charging networks to carbon capture and storage). I grew up in the middle-east before moving to Australia where I studied environmental engineering. After graduation, I knew I wanted to work in an industry where the outcomes of my work created positive environmental value, and at the same time my work be dynamic, technically challenging and analytical. As a result, the energy industry and transition seemed an obvious choice to me.
What is your role at Gridcog?
I am joining Gridcog as an Energy Analyst based in Melbourne! I’m excited to help customers use the product effectively and support the rest of the team with improving the tool.
What attracted you to working with Gridcog?
In my previous role, I worked on a project where I used Gridcog to model differing solar/BESS scenarios for a large wastewater treatment plant, and I was blown away by Gridcog’s intuitive UI, deep knowledge and diverse functionality. I could easily see that the team of passionate energy nerds had created a tool that could greatly aid and accelerate investment decisions required for Australia’s energy transition.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I love the outdoors and escaping the city to go hiking and spend time out in the bush. I also play and love watching football, swimming, and will get around most sports for a casual game. Travel is also a passion of mine, and I enjoy exploring new places and experiencing what the world has to offer!
What technology could you not live without?
Spotify! I love exploring new artists and listening to music throughout the day, so it’d be hard for me to give up something that makes my life so much more vibrant.
