What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?
Before joining Gridcog, I worked as an Operations Manager at an investment bank in New Zealand. My background is a bit of a mix - I studied biomedical sciences at university because I’ve always had a love for science and problem-solving, and sustainability has also always been important to me. So while I’m completely new to the energy sector, it feels like a natural step into a field that is both important and impactful.
What is your role at Gridcog?
I’m the Operations Coordinator at Gridcog’s London office, which means I get to wear a lot of different hats. I consider myself a generalist, and I love being involved in lots of different business processes.
What attracted you to working with Gridcog?
When I learned about Gridcog’s product and software, I was genuinely impressed. It’s solving real problems in a smart way, and I’m stoked to be contributing to a company working on something that matters.
What interests and excites you most about the energy industry?
Energy is fundamental to how we live, and the industry is at the heart of some of the biggest challenges and opportunities of our time. I was super excited for the opportunity to get into an industry that feels meaningful. The energy sector is evolving rapidly, and it’s playing a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable future.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I love cooking and hosting dinner parties for friends. Travel is also a huge passion of mine and was one of the main reasons I moved to London. The city’s proximity to Europe means there’s so much to explore, and I love experiencing different cultures, histories, and cuisines. I’m also loving exploring London’s many amazing parks - Hampstead Heath is my current favourite.
What technology could you not live without?
My phone camera, the ability to capture a moment is so special and something I can definitely take for granted
